I went on a leisurely 3 mile run yesterday in downtown St. Pete.
They’re setting up for this weekend’s St. Anthony’s Triatholon!
Pretty bathing birdy.
Lots of cute doggies at the dog park.
I may never use another treadmill ever again.
I tried to take it easy for this run. I think my body needs a little break from training. This was the first time my knees bothered me a little bit. And I definitely should have worn my compression sleeves as my shins started to yell at me half way through.
I don’t always wear them, but usually do when I run for 3 or more miles. I haven’t noticed a huge difference when wearing them…I still feel the shin splits, but they’re a lot more bearable with the sleeves.
Another essential I have become attached to…
my new Spibelt! It didn’t work well yesterday. The shorts I was wearing cause my shirt to ride up, which also made my Spibelt ride up. But all other times it has stayed put perfectly. I love it. I bought a cheap iPhone holder arm band at Walmart and used that for a while, but I really do prefer this. My arms are free and whichever arm I put the band on always felt gross and sometimes chafed…eck.
In my last post I forgot to mention all the goodies that I got in the IronGirl swag bag.
Ended up throwing a lot away but the food goodies and coupons were definitely appreciated. Props to the volunteers during race packet pick up too…everything was well-organized and even though there were a lot of people it didn’t take me long at all to get my bib, bag and shirt.
I finally got my butt to a yoga class Tuesday and it hurt so good. Also still loving being back at Fit for Fashion! The classes are totally kicking my butt.
Where do you like to run?
Congrats on your 5k finish! I found your blog over on the TBLB facebook. I’m jealous of all you StPete runners. I have to drive about 15 minutes to run anywhere with water/scenic, otherwise I’m just running around the neighborhoods.
Thanks Beka! Don’t worry I’m not that lucky…I have to drive about 10 minutes to get to downtown to run. Sometimes I run around my neighborhood but the waterfront is much more scenic!
