Hello friends! Hope everyone had a nice weekend 🙂 The Chef and I went down to Cape Coral for the weekend to spend time with family and friends. Our two buds are moving to Seattle this week so we wanted to soak up quality time with them while we could.
I’ve had a hankering for soup lately. Even though it’s a bajillon degrees outside…I’m def one of those “eat soup in the summer, eat ice cream in the winter” type of people. The Chef wasn’t too excited about the prospect of soup, but I gave him a choice anyway: corn chowder or tomato. Tomato it was! And it was lucky he chose tomato since Publix had the slimmest amount of corn on the cob available…even though they’re on sale for 5 for $2. I think I missed the whole corn season
After getting home with groceries The Chef took over…even though I was fully prepared to cook him dinner he insisted saying that “he’d be faster”. Well, he’s right… I still supplied him with the recipe, which I found via foodgawker. Seriously love that site.
While the soup was simmering I decided to take the Fitnessista’s 7 Minute Cardio Ab Burner Combo workout a whirl. Since it’s only 7 minutes my plan was to do it 4 times so it’d equal about a half hour of exercise. Ya, I didn’t get past 2 times…it’s a bit harder then it looks! I rounded it out with some sets of lunges and arm exercises.
Paired with 5 grain bread from Publix and a side green salad with blue cheese crumbles and Brianna’s champagne vinaigrette.
Topped off with a homemade oatmeal cookie that The Chef’s mom made. Yum!
